my anusara yoga teacher training has begun. it started off so beautifully with a Balinese cleanse ceremony. blessed by holy water from a natural spring at sacred temple in the mountains. had our white and red blood cells balanced. grounding in our root chakra and our throat and third eye chakra's blessed. bit a coconut leaf and through it away to get ride of negative energy. it was a really cool experience. Balinese Hinduism definitely has a softer approach, but it is truly is like being in a little India, with less chaos thankfully.
Before my training I was in Ubud with my friend Lawrence and got to be the back of his motorbike as he took me back to Canggu for my training. there were statues and posters of many of the Hindu favourites. Shiva, Parvarti, Ganesha and Hanuman which is the Balinese most worshipped Hindu deity.
we had a great morning meditation this morning, which for me set up so much, and really allows all off us to connect to each other on such a deeper level then just asana. most of us are already teachers so it going to make for a really in depth training!
just spent lunch break in the pool, under the sun and palm trees, truly a beautiful place to be training.
for sometime know I have really been exploring bringing a soft quality into my yoga practice. . . today I really felt this rather then knowing it through my intellect. my muscle relax in pose as I truly trust and feel that bones support me and hold me. in meditation I truly found a space where I was soft yet still supported in my seat. allowing myself to be present, which really allow me to just melt into this beautiful island. my teacher Tara today described how plants can never not be open, embracing but strong sturdy. exist as themselves in types of weather. Growing in the sun, blowing in the wind or just letting the rain fall on them. how much we can just learn from them as we practice yoga and be so present in our body. soft yet strong but never rigid or trying.
