Today is the first day of students at my outdoor centre, and I am really excited. After spending almost 2 weeks setting up the centre, sitting in sessions and going of site for meetings and trainings, I defiantly appreciate my upcoming time with students.
I really do believe my time working as an outdoor teacher is hugely apart of my yoga practice. Everyday students remind me to stay in the moment, and release my worry of tomorrow. Kids although are aware of their surroundings and understand actions have reactions, truly embrace and involve themself in their current moments. I also spent my work days in nature along a protected area of the Don River. I seen hawks and many forest song bird daily. Ground hogs, rabbits and foxes whenever they show themself. Deer and Great Blue Herons have been the latest sightings. It keeps me connected to nature (the root of creation) as well as always reminds me how appreciative I am of my life and the abundance I have.

I came across a really interesting poster back in grade 11, and it is actually up in my centre. Today, while setting up my class room I decided to write down some the quotes on it, and share it. Its Poster called "The Green Rule." It has quotes from 12 major religons about its general view on the environment. Here are a few:

Christianity: "What is the kingdom of God like?. . . It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches"

Shintoism: "Return the thing given to the human as a gift of nature to its orignal place"

Hinduism: "I am the frangrance of the Earth, the head in fire. I am the life of all that lives."

First Nation Spirituality: "Great Spirit, help us learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock."

Jainism: "Nonviolance is the supreme religion. One who looks on the creature of the Earth, big and small, as one's ownself, comprehends this immense world."

Baha'i Faith: "Know thou that every created thing is a sign of the revelation of God."

Buddhism: "Cut down the forst of desire, not the forest of trees."

Taoism: "In harmoney with the tao, the sky is clear and spacious. The Earth is solid and full. All creatures flourish together."
