removing the vale

So today the city of Toronto was graced by a beautiful blue sky and and warm sun with above 0 weather. Toronto has been covered by rain and slush for over a week. I woke up to see this with a big smile on my face, to then emerge out of my room and my roommate Fontane says. . ."I made breakfast and coffee." If you know me. . . my favourite meal is breakfast and my favourite drink next to water. . . is coffee. Protein banana pancakes, hashbrowns and grapefruit. . . how glorious! This day was truly starting off right. I decided to enjoy a bit of my coffee outside on my porch, such a wonderful feeling. I simple cannot wait for warmer mornings and many coffees to be had on this porch.

Another enjoyable moment. . . I go on facebook to see that my current crush chat is online. . .so while enjoying my breakfast I got to enjoy chatting with a grin and giggle in me while chatting it up. After playing with my cat, I went biked to my favourite cafe "Saving Gigi's" at Bloor and Ossington. I impressed myself by riding most of the way with no hands. . . a skill I have only been working on for 24 years. .
Sipping my latte and reading yoga anatomy on a sunny afternoon. . .nothing better. But then my dear friend and fellow yoga instructor Linseed calls to ask me to sub her 3:45 acuball class. How excited I was. I was in such a mood to teach a class, and create a theme to how I am feeling today.

I worked with the idea of feeling the warmth and bright light the sun is giving us to meet the bright light that shines from our heart centre. To truly reveal the light we have inside us. Removing our vale from winter and embracing the beautiful transition that is spring.

To top it off I went to Value Village, and found a great black jean jacket and some spiffy brown vintage shoes.

Overall I have to say today was a splendid Monday. I was present, and recognize that this day in all its glory is here to teach me a lot, as well as show me all the work I've done. Even if the week gets busy and chaotic and even dark, I can remember this day and it can be the reminder of my light.

My theme for my yoga practice/teaching this week is to discover the light within and bring light to the darkness.
We never have to add darkness to light, we take light away to bring darkness. The sunsets. But then we find/add light to the darkness. The sunrises. So within ourself we have to get through all the dark muck to find the beautiful light that already exists within our heart, and let it shine out.

Just loving life!
