take flight and soar

I had a jam packed weekend, full of nightly adventures, and day time activities. I celebrated two wonderful ladies birthdays. My best friend of 11 years Kristina and my roommate's Fontane. Both turning 25. I indulged in Saturday night of 2 parties, to many drinks but a ton of laughter and dancing. Could help have helped in bring in such a important for two ladies. To top it off it was a full moon on Saturday, defiantly speaking the profound year these girls will have.

On Sunday, I made my way to see a good friend and my tattoo artist Joey at Way Cool Tattoo on Queen West to get a new ink that I have been wanting for almost a year. A Red-Tailed Hawk on my right forearm. Hawks my whole life have always been so symbolic to me. Being fascinated whenever I saw them soaring while being in Northern Ontario with family, or exploring lakes on canoe trips at camp. They are a animal that tells you to expect a message, and be open to signs around because if you do, the right things will unfold for you. This tattoo speaks to me really, because the hawk always reminds me to reach for my dreams, don't be afraid to take flight and soar, but like all hawks do return to their nest (my foundation) and ground back down. The tattoo is a reminder of how much work I have done within myself in letting go, and not being afraid to take leaps of faith towards the things I want in life. Also to keep soaring on the voyage of life and the journey within myself, and having no fear of what exists in me and around me.
