Meditating under THE Bodhi Tree.
So a wish I have had since my endevours into studying Buddhism has been to sit and meditate under the Bodhi tree the Buddha attained enlightenment under. . . that wish has been answer. . . already 3 times with an hour long walking meditation around the temple grounds that have been built around the tree. The temple grounds is called the Mahabodhi Temple, and the building erected next to the Bodhi tree (now being well over 2,500 years old) is called the diamond throne (Vajrasana). The tree however is not the orignal tree, but spawn of the orignal. The wife of Emperor Asoka, was jealous of her husbands attachment to the tree, and how much he would do for it, even building the orignal Mahabodhi temple, that she killed the tree, but before her daugher actually was able to capture a seed and brought it to grow in Sri Lanka and then it was brought back to the orignal tree's spot and has been growing happily ever since. The energy and vibration of the space is just amazing, this purity exist. So easy to tape into the feeling of connection, bliss and unity. Waking up tomorrow for the sunrise and join other meditators and monks in this beautiful meditation park, next to the temple.
